On Wednesday, April 26, 2006 the Armenian National Committee
Orange County PAC in conjunction with Orange County Supervisor Chris
Norby, John Gulugian, John Cholakian and Art Astor succeeded in raising a
substantial sum for Mayor Pro Tem Marty Simonoff in his bid for the
California State Assembly seat for the 72nd District.
The event was held at the Astor Events Center in Anaheim, CA.  A truly
unique venue, the Astor Events Center houses the 5th largest private
collection of automobiles in the United States.  This $80 million dollar facility
gives a wonderful glimpse into the classic history of many of America’s
greatest automotive companies including General Motors, Ford, Cadillac,
Packard, Chrysler and more.  The Astor Events Center is also home to one
of the largest collections of antique radios, telephones and televisions in the
United States.
Special guest speaker Jerry “Coach” Tarkanian was on hand to offer his
support to Marty Simonoff’s election campaign.  Coach Tarkanian offered a
number of kind words about Marty, recalling their initial meeting many years
earlier.  In his remarks, Coach Tarkanian highlighted Mr. Simonoff’s
commitment as a law enforcement officer, dedication as a public servant and
of Marty being a genuinely good person.
The Armenian National Committee Orange County PAC was on hand
with 15 guests to support Marty Simonoff’s election bid including Executive
Board Members Garo Madenlian, Ara Malazian & Lucy Der Yeghiayan.  The
ANCOC PAC has placed its full commitment behind helping Mr. Simonoff
become the first Armenian American from Orange County to be elected to
the  California State Assembly.  To help the ANCOC PAC in their efforts or to
